vraagtekenThe administration and publishing of websites is all in a day’s work for VEVIDA. This makes it difficult for us to choose topics for this blog. But maybe you, as a user, sometimes want a particular topic explained in more detail. That’s precisely why we want your help!

We’re starting a new category on our blog: “On request!” There, you’ll be able to send the topic you want to know more about to our editors. They’ll make a selection on the basis of timeliness and relevance.

If we include your topic in the blog, we’ll send an email letting you know. You can send multiple topics.

Send your topic(s) to blog@vevida.com.

lasonIf one term in the Internet world has become important in recent years, it’s “SEO” (Search Engine Optimization).

An “optimized” website is always more likely to be found, to attract more visitors, and thus bring SMEs, etc. more customers. In other words, SEO (used on your website) = more enquiries, more sales.

At the same time, there’s still a lot of fog hanging around the term: it is a matter of a few tricks? A matter of putting your website in the right place? Companies that have specialized in SEO in recent years have been reluctant to put all their cards on the table.

Well, let us help get one misunderstanding smartly out of the way: there’s no quick way to get good scores (in Google, etc.). Stay away from obscure companies that promise to put you in 1st place in a double-quick time. The real answer comes down to careful (and very patient) use of a few basic “rules of play”.

Professional help by “ethical” SEO companies to optimise your site will, of course, always represent added value, but there are a few things you can do yourself in the meantime:

-       Make sure your website is constructed by a “professional builder” - someone who knows what they’re doing from step 1 so your site can be searched and indexed (by your key words and content) quickly and easily by search engines

-       Have a couple of links to your (new) site and try to increase this number steadily (but not too fast). Use “trustworthy, known” websites for this (local community, suppliers, customers, etc.). Never pay for “bulk purchases” of links!

If you apply these two rules and have the necessary patience (Google likes websites that demonstrate their “soundness” over the long haul), you can count on your site getting better and better scores in the search results. Good luck!

Online payment at VEVIDA

April 24th, 2009

mistercashSince last week, customers in Belgium can pay online using Bancontact/Mister Cash. Anyone with a bank card can now pay their invoice online. This means that orders are processed more quickly. Customers in the Netherlands already had this option with iDEAL.

If you order a package at VEVIDA, your order is processed immediately if you opt for online payment at the end of the registration wizard. Our system receives a message as soon as payment is successful, and will automatically initiate delivery. The procedure of a new application takes an average of 15 minutes, and then your domain is ready for use.

Online payment allows you to quickly register a domain or add an extension to your package at any given time.
